Always Arguing

Often when you are a family member or friend of someone who has a problem with alcohol or drugs you can tend to end up just talking about the drinking. You might argue about the affect you see the drinking/drug use is having on the person, the affect it is having on you or your family and friends.

This can be a strain on your relationship with the person as there may be a tense atmosphere when you are with the person. You may end up talking less than you used to and when you do talk it ends up with disagreements or arguments.

Often living in this atmosphere it can be easy to forget what is good about having a relationship with that person. It may feel like the drinking or drug problem has taken over the relationship.

How do I cope?
