Aquarius is committed to equal opportunities in employment and anti-discriminatory practice in service delivery. We acknowledge the value and dignity of all human beings, regardless of background or personal circumstances and we recognise that in our society groups and individuals have been, and continue to be, discriminated against on the basis of race, sex, marital status, disability, sexuality, class, age, responsibility for dependents, trade union activity, political and religious belief. We further recognise that, in addition to direct discrimination, there are practices which have an indirect discriminatory effect.
Aquarius acknowledges that it has a legal and moral duty to ensure that it promotes equality of opportunity and practice which is anti-discriminatory.
Recruitment and Selection
Aquarius aims to operate an effective recruitment and selection procedure which ensures equality of opportunity. Selection criteria (job description and person specification) are kept under constant review to ensure that they are justifiable, on non-discriminatory grounds, as being essential for the effective performance of the job. All Aquarius staff on interview panels have had equal opportunities training.
Service Delivery
Clients have a right to equality of access to services, regardless of their background or situation, and for special needs to be taken into consideration.
Training
Aquarius ensures that all employees have equal and direct access to training and development opportunities.
